Can I Claim Compensation?

Most kinds of accident can give rise to a claim, from a traffic accident to an injury suffered at work. Industrial illnesses and trips or falls can also form the basis of legal action. Dependants are able to claim in the event of a fatal accident.

You might be surprised that you can make a claim if you are a victim of a crime, or are involved in a car accident with an uninsured or untraced driver.

In most cases the accident must have occurred in the past 3 years. The Statute of Limitations rules that personal injury claims expire after this period. There are a few exceptions to this, however, particularly where the case involves a work-related disease.

The accident must also be at least partly someone else’s fault.

What if I was at fault?
