Fixed Fee Advice Meeting
Consists of:
- A 30 minute meeting with a member of our experienced Family Team who will provide advice tailored to your needs and discuss future options
Costs:
Our fees – £75.00 +VAT payable before or at meeting
First Meeting
Consists of:
- 1 -1.5 hour meeting
- Discussion of the whole situation and all available options
- Notes from the meeting summarising instructions given, reminder of future options and advice
- Allocation to a member of our experienced Family Team who will be your dedicated lawyer for future work
Costs:
Our fees – £250.00 +VAT payable before or at meeting
Divorce as Petitioner
Consists of:
- One meeting
- Preparation and issuing of Divorce Petition
- Updates by letter/email
- Telephone support
- Applying for Decree Nisi
- Applying for Decree Absolute
Costs:
Our fees – £700.00 +VAT
Court fees – £550.00
Payment:
£400.00 is payable at the first appointment. The Court fee of £550.00 is payable at the stage of issuing the petition
What is NOT covered:
- Having to obtain a certified copy of marriage certificate
- Bailiff fees, should the divorce papers need to be served on your spouse personally
- The fee for the preliminary advice meeting
- Detailed advice in relation to financial or children matters
- Enforcement of any cost orders made
- In the case of delays caused by either party, contested matters or complications which lead to additional work, we will provide an estimate of what any extra costs are likely to be
Divorce as Respondent
Consists of:
- One meeting
- Preparation of Acknowledgement of service
- Updates by letter/email regarding Decree Nisi and Decree Absolute
Costs:
Our fees – £400.00 plus VAT
Payment:
£250.00 is payable at the first appointment
What is NOT covered:
- Detailed advice in relation to financial or children matters
- The fee for the preliminary advice meeting
- In the case of delays caused by either party, contested matters or complications which lead to additional work, we will provide an estimate of what any extra costs are likely to be
Financial Clean Break
Consists of:
- One meeting to discuss finances and agreed terms of consent order
- Confirmation in letter of agreed financial terms
- Letter to spouse/spouse’s Solicitor
- Drafting agreement and statement of information
- One further meeting to approve and sign the draft agreement
- Filing signed consent order documentation with the court
- Providing you with the sealed consent order
Costs:
Our fees – £600.00 +VAT
Court fees – £50.00 (usual to pay half each at £25)
Payment:
£250.00 is payable at the first appointment
What is NOT covered:
- The fee for the preliminary advice meeting
- In the case of delays caused by either party, contested matters or complications which lead to additional work, we will provide an estimate of what any extra costs are likely to be
- In some circumstances the Judge may list the matter for a short hearing, usually if a matter needs clarification or if one party is unrepresented. This would be charged on a time spent basis.
- Advice on the agreement without first obtaining full financial disclosure. You will be requested to sign a disclaimer confirming the limits of our retainer
- Implementation of any of the terms of the consent order with your ex-spouse or their Solicitor to negotiate and agree terms, then our hourly rates will be applied
Non-molestation Order/Occupation Order
Consists of:
- One meeting
- Preparation of the application and supporting paperwork
- Filing of the application with the court
- First hearing attending
- Advising on next steps
Costs:
Our fees – £1000.00
Payment:
Total fee payable in advance
What is NOT covered:
- Other costs such as Bailiff frees and Barrister fees which may become necessary. In this case we will obtain estimates of what these costs will be
- Should there be any delay by either you or your ex-spouse, unforeseen events or contested issues this will involve extra work. In this case we will give you an estimate of what any extra costs are likely to be
Co-habitation Agreement
Consists of:
- One meeting to discuss agreement
- Drafting Co-habitation Agreement and sending to partner
- Telephone/email advice and support to finalise the documents
- One meeting to approve and sign the documentation
Costs:
Our fees – £550.00 – £1,200.00 +VAT
Payment:
£250.00 is payable at the first appointment

Separation Deed
Consists of:
- One meeting to discuss agreement
- Drafting Separation Deed and sending to ex-spouse/partner
- Telephone advice and support to finalise the document
- Meeting to approve and sign
Costs:

Payment:
£250.00 is payable at the first appointment
What is NOT covered:
- In the case of delays caused by either party, contested matters or complications which lead to additional work, we will provide an estimate of what any extra costs are likely to be
Child Arrangements without Court Proceedings
Consists of:
- One meeting to take instructions
- Corresponding with the other party to try to reach an agreement
- Referral to mediation if necessary
- Advising on whether a court application should be made
Costs:
Our fees – £550.00 +VAT
Payment:
£250.00 is payable at the first appointment
Child Arrangements with Court Application
Consists of:
- One meeting
- Drafting form C100 (and any other as required)
- Sending draft to you for your approval
- Issuing the papers with the Court and informing you on the first appointment Court date and advising you on future options
Costs:
Our fees – £1,000.00 +VAT
Court fees – £215.00
Payment:
£500.00 is payable at the first appointment
What is NOT covered:
- Payment of court fees
- Advising on further documents eg. Schedule 2 letter
- Attendance at court
- The fee for the preliminary advice meeting
- In the event of any delays either by you or your ex-partner
- Matters or complications which lead to extra work, we will provide you with an estimate of any extra costs
Statutory Declarations
Consists of:
- One meeting to take instructions
- Preparation of Statutory Declaration
- Telephone/email advice and support to finalise the documents
- Meeting to approve and sign
Costs:
Our fees – £250.00 +VAT payable before or at the meeting
Change of Name Deed
Costs:
Change of Name Deed – £150.00 +VAT each payable before or at meeting
There will be occasions when fixed fees are not appropriate for your requirements and we will charge on a time spent basis. In these circumstances, we will provide you with an estimate of costs and send out regular interim bills, usually on a monthly basis or after a significant step.
We are able to offer advice and representation in court proceedings. In these circumstances we will charge on a time spent basis.
